Julie, mystified and upset by Mark's decision to move out of the flat, invites Virginia to take his place, while two policemen arrive to question Mark in connection with a charge of receiving stolen goods.

Peter Holland bails Mark out of gaol. Stephanie Holland believes she is responsible for Mark's situation.

EPISODE 928

Peter and Julie Holland agree not to inform their parents of Stephanie's condition. After emotionally encouraging Virginia, Luke Ryan now gives her the brush-off.

EPISODE 929

Vivienne Jeffries and Norma Campbell continue their struggle for the matron's job, while Ben Fielding falls in love at first sight with Brian Denham's new medical assistant.

John Forrest distresses Norma Campbell by rejecting her affections, while Ben Fielding tells Robyn Porter (Brian Denham's new assistant) that he intends to marry her.

The new matron of the Albert is appointed, a decision which disappoints Vivienne Jeffries and shatters Norma Campbell. John Forrest doesn't help her by continuing to blow hot and cold so that she doesn't know where she stands.

Luke Ryan's developing closeness with Julie arouses Virginia's jealousy, while Norma Campbell starts to turn the tables on John Forrest.

Winnie Parsons' scones give the patients more than a taste sensation. After a blazing row, Luke admits his true feelings for Virginia and a tender reconciliation follows.

Dennis finds his relationships at work affected by strange reveries, but his encounter with the new matron is far from a dream.

The appointment of Matron Love causes a few raised eyebrows when word gets out that he is a man! Mike Newman is horrified to discover that his father, brought into the Albert as the result of a hit and run accident, is really the victim of an intricate vendetta.

Julie talks to Luke Ryan about the emotional conflicts she can expect to face if she decides to become a nun, little realising the conflict he is going through over Virginia. Ben is hurt and angered when Robyn Porter finally admits the real reason for her offhand attitude towards him.

Although Ben declares that his romance with Robyn is now non-existent, he is very jealous of her flirting with Dr. Gavin Morris. Mike Newman's father is transferred out of intensive to a private ward. The two heavies who guard his room arouse Sister Jeffries' suspicions that something weird is going on.

Mike Newman finds himself involved with something more than he bargained for when his father disappears from the hospital under mysterious circumstances, while Ada inadvertently lets it slip to Peter and Mark Holland that Julie is thinking of becoming a nun.

Virginia is anxious for Luke to decide about his future. She is frightened that it will not include her. When Mr. Holland arrives unexpectedly, Peter and Julie begin to suspect that their parents may have been keeping one or two secrets from them.

The hospital newspaper 'Probe' is catching up with everyone - John Forrest in particular - while Peter Holland gets a sharp setdown medically from Graham Steele, who has returned to make his presence felt with a vengeance.

Vivienne Jeffries and Helen Gordon are finding it increasingly difficult to live under the same roof. Luke finally makes his choice between Virginia and the Priesthood.

Julie is shattered by Luke's decision about his career. Derek Holland gets a surprise when he meets his physiotherapist at the Albert - it seems they already know each other.

Derek Holland is horrified to learn about Stephanie's pregnancy. Mrs. Newman has some upsetting news for Mike about his father.

It appears that Ben Fielding is about to lose out romantically to John Forrest again. Mike Newman makes his choice between his loyalty to his family and his career.

Mike Newman is taking a great risk in going against his family's wishes, and much to John Forrest's surprise, his moves towards Robyn are getting him nowhere,

Mike Newman is returned to his own family only to face new problems. Luke annoys Virginia and makes his peace with Julie. Lori finds herself in a sticky situation with the Hollands.

Mr. Holland confronts Lori. Jeffries warns Peter not to get involved. Forrest congratulates Newman on spending the night at Robyn's flat.

Ben hears about Newman and Robyn. They have it out. Newman seems to have lost his popularity. Virginia and Luke fight. Both are worried for the future. Kate pops the question to Denham.

EPISODE 949

Tension between Helen and Jeffries mounts. Winnie's condition is worrying Dr. Steele. Brian and Kate settle for friendship.

EPISODE 950

Luke is still undecided about Virginia. Helen leaves Jeffries' flat to move into Raymond's house, and Jeffries misunderstands. John Forrest makes Liz Kennedy an offer she can't refuse.
