Laura Denham is offered an important position in the hospital, but surprises Brian by asking if she can turn it down. Sister Scott has a quiet word with Ada and proves the her fears are groundless.

Jim Howard carries his young bride over the threshold and is confronted with the tragic news about his father. Edna Curtis is in danger of losing the help of Paul Bennett by asking too many questions about his private life. Ada refuses to share a ward with the lady in the next bed.

Dr Gail Henderson has run an important test on herself and phones through to the lab for the results. Jim Howard is shattered when Gail tells him what is wrong with her.

Greg Mason and Julie Warner try to work out what went wrong between them. The beautiful young model rejected by the millionaire patient returns to the hospital to plead with him to take her back, and causes a sensation which Denham is warned to hush up.

Julie Warner's mother is recovering in hospital, but receives a setback in the form of a letter delivered by Orderly Dennis Jamison. Sister Scott discovers an intruder in the hospital and is forced to cooperate with him.

Doreen, the pretty blonde in the kiosk, is falling in love with Dennis Jamison - but Dennis has reasons of his own for not wanting to continue the relationship with Doreen - at any price. Jim Howard attempts to explain his problems with his wife - but can't.

Nurse Kelly Jones is offered the job of a lifetime - playing private nurse to the globe trotting millionaire. But she has her own terms and to her astonishment they are accepted by him.

The mystery of Paul Bennett, the handsome young barman at Bunny's Place, is solved by Kelly Jones. Paul is forced to go into hiding from the police call to question him.

Paul Bennett confides in his friends at Bunny's Place and leaves them with the problem of whether or not to keep his secret. The beautiful Hilary Templeton tells Philip Winter she is in love - and lives to regret it.

Pride stops Dr Craig Rothwell from making Kelly Jones stay at the hospital. Brian Denham realises he can get a brilliant, new doctor to join his hospital if he moves fast.

Craig Rothwell is depressed now that Kelly Jones has gone from the hospital. He clashes with a peppery surgeon during an operation. Sister Scott tells him the facts of life. Jill Gordon decides her mother is lonely and can do better than spend her time with old Dr Shaw, but Helen isn't amused.

EPISODE 64

Gail Henderson submits her resignation and won't listen to the friends who want her to stay at the hospital. Craig Rothwell upsets Dr Shaw when he doesn't turn up to assist an operation - and no one in the hospital can locate him.

EPISODE 65

Young Dr Craig Rothwell returns to the hospital and asks Sister Scott to help him. When the police call to see Craig, Sister Scott lies to give an alibi to the young doctor who did so much for her in the past. Jo-Jo Adams asks Greg Mason if he would like to share a luxury unit overlooking the harbour, and Laura Denham is found to be suffering from a mystery illness that kills.

EPISODE 66

Laura's mystery illness takes a turn for the worse, but Jill Gordon comes up with what could be the cause. If what she says is true, then things are very serious indeed. Dr Craig Rothwell has a visit from the police, who ask some very awkward questions.

EPISODE 67

The police questions regarding Philip Winter's death continue, but now Sister Scott is implicated. It appears she and Craig have something to hide. At the same time, the illusive Kelly Jones makes a reappearance.

EPISODE 68

Jim tackles Gail, regarding the future of Gail's baby, but doesn't get the response he'd hoped for. Back in Casualty, the new orderly finds he has a major problem.

EPISODE 69

Dr Gail Henderson becomes a patient in her own hospital and Dr Denham has to make a decision which could affect his wife's future drastically. Craig and Sister Scott have a showdown and Kelly Jones makes a nasty accusation.

EPISODE 70

Martin Price is still having trouble staying on his own two feet. Craig Rothwell has to tell the truth at last. In Bunny's bar Edna discovers some of Paul Barrett's past.

Decisions have to be made regarding Laura Denham's future, but she refuses until she can no longer do anything about it, and her husband Dr Brian Denham steps in and makes them for her. We learn a little about Ada Simmond's domestic life much to Doreen's surprise.

Dr Craig Rothwell and Sister Scott dig themselves in deeper over the death of Philip Winter and Paul Barrett takes a firm stand with Edna, and tells her a few home truths - which hurt.

EPISODE 73

Dennis and Martin plot together to try and avert future disasters in Casualty. Dr Gail Henderson and Maureen and Jim come to terms, and Jim makes a move which surprises and annoys Edna. Martin gets a new job.

EPISODE 74

Ada finds it hard to believe the truth about Paul Barrett. She quickly forgets when she gets home and discovers what has happened to Arthur. Meanwhile, Hilary Templeton tells Craig that she has to print the truth.

EPISODE 75

We meet Arthur Simmonds for the first time, and Ada's secret is out. Dr Gail Henderson prepares to leave the hospital for good. Jill and Tania still try to find someone to share the unit. A young doctor would just fit the bill.
