EPISODE 1051

Tania and Holland continue to have romantic problems. Caroline gets into deep waters with the crèche director. Clare MacGuire is firstly dismissed from the Albert, then confronted by a welfare officer.

EPISODE 1052

Ada finds Arthur Shepherd's behaviour at the ballroom rather puzzling. Clare tells Tania the truth and looks like getting her job back. Tania tells Holland to bow out of Michelle's life before he does lasting damage.

EPISODE 1053

Steve Newman visits the psychiatrist, reluctantly. Ada continues her ballroom dancing. Holland unthinkingly uses Gloria, which culminates in her telling him some very strong home truths. Newman is surprised and rather impressed.

EPISODE 1054

Gloria runs foul of Forrest but her day is salvaged by Mike Newman, whom she's learning to like a lot. Shaw receives a warm welcome home. Maggie makes a big faux pas which embarrasses Steele, and Kate is shocked to find Josh Cormack throwing a wild party in her house.

EPISODE 1055

Helen is worried about the Maggie/Steele relationship. In spite of Maggie's faux pas, Steele backs her, only to find he's told to drop her - she's socially unacceptable to the Board. The heavies turn up at Bunny's to threaten Steve Newman.

EPISODE 1056

Brian Denham runs into juvenile problems while he 'fathers' Phillip Harvey. Steele fumes over the Chairman's attitude to his romance with Maggie Gordon. Tania and Holland continue to have big problems with their engagement.

EPISODE 1057

Jody plans the kissing contest to raise funds for the hospital quest. Newman handles the draw, with alarming results for some, especially Sister Jeffries. Gloria Stapleton has a crush on Holland and Holland creates more trouble with Tania by his attentions to Michelle Francis.

EPISODE 1058

Clare MacGuire gets a big shock when the Welfare Office calls unexpectedly. Jody makes a hit with the new Deputy Superintendent, and the kissing competition makes Mike Newman realise he could be developing romantic feelings for Gloria.

EPISODE 1059

Richard Quinlan, the new Deputy Super, spreads his social net wide and disconcerts Jody. Dennis backs Clare and helps her regain custody of her little sister Kirsty. Steve Newman ns badly shaken when he discovers the waitress in Bunny's has been stabbed to death.

EPISODE 1060

Steve Newman is suspected of murder by the police. Phillip Harvey gives Brian Denham an even bigger headache, and Denham is shocked to learn the Board has thrown his job open to other applicants.

EPISODE 1061

Denham's friends are shocked to learn that his position has been opened to all applicants and is to be a permanent one. Holland is called to the police station as the last person to see the murdered waitress alive. Tania and Holland break off their engagement.

EPISODE 1062

Steele feels that Maggie should go out with other men. Maggie baulks, then takes his advice with a vengeance. Holland over-reacts to his break-up with Tania, refusing to discuss it and meeting Tania's efforts to remain 'good friends' with hostility. Friendship blooms between Maggie and Jody. Mark learns that both he and Tania are friends of Danny Stevens.

EPISODE 1063

Holland seeks to blot out the pain of his engagement break-up in the arms of others. Denham bawls Quinlan out over a medical mistake, but is deflated to learn that Quinlan is applying for his job. Helen softens towards the Maggie/Steele relationship. Ada takes Phillip off Denham's hands, and Newman warms to Gloria. Michelle shows inner strength upon ending her relationship with Holland.

EPISODE 1064

The senior male staff are at loggerheads over Dr. Denham's job. But their dispute is overshadowed by a second murder at Bunny's.

EPISODE 1065

Caroline Jamison has to be rushed to hospital. Dr. Newman finds the murder enquiry having somewhat unexpectedly pleasant side effects.

EPISODE 1066

Newman and Gloria ponder their new relationship. Holland is distant after his night with Sherry and suffers another police questioning. Following her encounter with Dorothy Shepherd, Ada is reduced to tears by the news coverage of the dancing championships.

EPISODE 1067

Holland showed Tania contempt and his failure to get his transfer to Melbourne crushes both their hopes. He seeks solace in Maggie, but she refuses him until later. Stung by Steele's insistence that she not meet his visiting daughter, Jessica, Maggie visits Holland to spite Steele.

EPISODE 1068

Gloria has doubts about her relationship with Newman. Steve feels that he is as good as convicted of murder and that his brother thinks he might be guilty. Maggie and Steele patch their differences. Steele and Holland argue and Holland hears the hard truth about his job security.

EPISODE 1069

Danny's and Ada's glee at Jody breaking a date with Quinlan is shortlived. Denham is twice reminded of Quinlan's competence. A fight between Phillip and Josh turns to fun sparring under Shaw's tutelage - fund spoilt by the Duffys asking to take Josh in. Jeffries wins a raffled trip to Vila. A journalist is admitted, police-guarded against a cult group he is about to expose.

EPISODE 1070

Josh runs away with Phillip but returns to face his future with the Duffys. Denham seeks Phillip, finds him, they talk and reach a new understanding. A lecturer from Mark's tech is bashed for supporting plans to fight the budget cuts. Forrest finds Newman standing over Know with a bloody scalpel, moments after she has probed Steve's mind under drugs and taped his confession.

EPISODE 1071

The Newmans and Holland are chief suspects in a third murder at the hospital. Josh is finally adopted and Kate is faced with saying goodbye. Richard successfully plays one-upmanship on Denham and Steele.

EPISODE 1072

Maggie Gordon threatens to blackmail Richard. Richard viciously gives Jody the brush-off. Jody is destroyed. Steele is, with Maggie, excited over his invitation to rejoin the Board - then furious when he finds out why. Danny and Mark are arrested.

EPISODE 1073

Gloria's behaviour surprises both Holland and Newman. Mark's demonstration gets out of hand and now he must face the consequences.

EPISODE 1074

Newman and Holland are both puzzled by Gloria's behaviour, while Gloria herself takes a risk she will regret. All is not well at the Jamisons'. Dennis learns that having a family has its drawbacks.

EPISODE 1075

Gloria is attacked outside Bunny's but can't say by whom. The Newmans are suspected. Steve even wonders if indeed he could have done it. Caroline is having problems with Robert. Newman tells Holland everyone is fed up with him.
